Authon-of-Pole is a common French located in the department of Eure-et-Loir and the area Center. The inhabitants are called Authonniers or Authonnais , this last gentilé is most usually used.

The commune which was called in the beginning Authon was re-elected in Authon-of-Pole by a decree of 1935.

Geography

Authon-of-pole is located at the meeting of the Maine, the Beauce and the Perche.

The principal borough is located at the top of a hill, culminating with 247 meters, with the meeting of valleys, sources of several rivers: the Sling, affluent of the Dormouse; Ronne, flow of the Huisne; the Bell and the river of Holy-Suzanne, affluents of the Ozanne. The borough is divided into two principal parts: the historical heart of the XVIe and XIXe century S, formerly surrounded by ditches, built in a concentric way on the progressive entensions and hillsides since 1885.

The hamlet of Saint-Lubin-of-five-font is an old commune attached to Authon in 1836. The hamlet is built on the levels on the north-western side of a hill overhanging the valley of Ronne.

The highway A11, open in 1975, cut the territory of the commune in two.
