Austen Chamberlain

Sir Austen Chamberlain (born with Birmingham the October 16th 1863 - died with London the March 16th 1937) is a British politician .

Wire of Joseph Chamberlain. After studies with Cambridge, Chamberlain travels in Europe, in particular in France and to Berlin. He was the chief of the unionistic party - partisan of the maintenance of the union and Large Gretagne- then directing Conservative party. Of return to London, it is named preserving Député with the House of Commons in 1892, Chancellor of the Exchequer (1903 - 1905, 1919 - 1921), Secretary of State of India (1915 - 1917), member of the Cabinet of war (1918 - 1919). He is then Foreign Minister between 1925 and 1929 and is one of the instigators for the the United Kingdom, with Gustav Stresemann and Aristide Briand, of the Accords of Locarno of 1925, which are worth the to him Nobel Prize of peace this same year.
