Aussois

Aussois is a common French, located in the department of the Savoy and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Geography

Tourist village of mountain, Winter sports resort and of summer, located on a plate, with the doors of the National park of Vanoise, in Maurienne in the department of the Savoy. Latitude: 45° 13 ' NR, Longitude: 6° 44 ' E, Altitude: 1489 Mr.

The station is managed by a communal control: 23 tracks marked between 1530 and 2675 m of altitude, 55 km of tracks to the foot of the Dent Parrachée (3 697 m). The station, exposed to the south, suffers sometimes from a lack of snowing up, which nevertheless is compensated by good equipment in snow of culture and the possibility of skiing starting from the intermediate station, located to 2150 meters of altitude.

In 2005, it reorganized an important part of its field of altitude by the replacement of one of the longest skis-lift of France (550 m of uneven) by a disengageable chair-lift 6 places. The layout being different, the maximum altitude of the station was reduced of a few 20 meters.

the Barrière of Esseillon is a series of five fortifications built at the 19th century, to protect the Piedmont from a possible French invasion. It includes/understands four forts and one fears, which bear the names of members of the family of Savoy. These forts never saw the least combat.
