Aurel Ramat
Aurel Ramat (born in 1926 with Modane (Savoy), area the Rhone-Alps) is a Canadian typographer and French. It specialized in the new orthography.
He studies with Grenoble where he opens his workshop. In 1955, it settles with Montreal and works with the newspaper the Duty like Linotypiste. Then it migrates with its family in California to return to France and to work in Grenoble with the newspaper the Dauphine one released . One then finds it with New York where it will become Correcteur of tests to the the United Nations.
In 1982, of return to the Quebec, it publishes the first edition of the Ramat , initially intended for the only printers. This work will be thereafter a success near the general public.
In Quebec, he works with the newspaper The Gazette . Reprocessed, he is currently lecturer on the subjects which touch with its trade. His/her daughter Catherine Ramat is a famous joaillière installed with Montreal.
