Aurel Popovici
Aurel C. Popovici (born the October 16th with 1863 Lugoj, Transylvania - February 9th 1917 with Geneva, Swiss) was a lawyer and politicking Austro-Hungrois of Rumanian culture . With other Rumanian intellectuals of the Rumanian National Party, it signed the Memorandum of Transylvania, a document pleading for equal rights between the Roumanians and the Magyars of Transylvania, and asking the end of persecutions and the attempts at Magyarisation.
In 1906 it proposed the federalisation Austria-Hungary in a union which it named the United States de Grande Austria.
It is buried with the cemetery being next to the Church Saint Nicolas of Braşov.
