Augustus Saint-Gaudens
Augustus Saint-Gaudens (born with Dublin on March 1st 1848 - died with Cornish the August 3rd, 1907), was an American sculptor of Irish origin and whose father was shoe-maker with Aspet France. It grows with New York and travelled to Europe in order to study the fine arts. It carried out many monuments glorifiant the heroes of the American Civil War like the memorial dedicated to Robert Gould Shaw with Boston, that of the general John A. Logan with Chicago and that of William Tecumseh Sherman with Central Park. It drew also a gold coin of 20 dollars in 1905-1907.
