Augustus Hill

Augustus Hill is a character of the televised series OZ, interpreted by Harold Perrineau Jr.

Personality

Augustus Hill is a prisoner in wheel chair. It intervenes in each episode in asides, as if it were an observer external with the prison, by approaching a new topic with each episode (on subjects such as civilizations, love, the sex, the school, childhood, the media) which are as many metaphors to illustrate the various events proceeding during the episode. It approaches these topics without concession, but with much of humor and subtlety, with a sarcastic tone.

But it is also a character with whole share as a prisoner, handicapped following his fall top of a building by police officers who continued it after it had killed one of them. If it is close to the Homeboys at the commencement of the series, it moves away from there gradually to the wire from time. It approaches them following the arrival of Burr Redding which is a friend of its family, with which it maintains a relatio quasi-subsidiary company.

Hill is certainly the prisoner more posed prison, one of only having made practically the no crime in OZ, showing compassion vis-a-vis certain prisoners and not hesitating to denounce crimes when they go against his morals (like crimes towards children), from where its distance of Homeboys and its relative neutrality.
