Organization
The Japan is a Constitutional monarchy with a bicameral Parlement , the Kokkai (国会) or diet ; This political regime was set up in 1945 in agreement with the American occupying forces. The executive power belongs to the cabinet, to person in charge in front of the diet, composed of the Prime Minister (総理大臣) and ministers of state, all having to be civilians. The Prime Minister must be a member of the diet, which chooses it. The Prime Minister has the capacity to name and dislocate the ministers, whose majority must be members of the Parliament.
The Constitution allots the sovereignty, which returned before to the emperor, to the Japanese people, and the emperor is defined like symbol of the state.
The legislative branch is composed of a room of the representatives (Shûgi-in, 衆議院) of 480 seats, elected official by the vote for all every four years, and of a room of the advisers (Sangiin, 参議院) of 242 seats, whose members are elected for six years.
The vote is always universal and secret (all the men and women 20 years old or more have the right to vote). The Emperor having only one role purely symbolic system, the Japan is sometimes classified like parliamentary democracy.
