Augustin Royer
Augustin Royer was an astronomer French living at the time of Louis XIV.
In 1679 it published a star catalog which comprised in addition to the 48 Constellation S of Ptolémée and of the additions of more recent astronomers such as Bode, several constellations of grown sound. It is credited with the creation of the constellation of the Colombe (by withdrawing part of the constellation of the Large Dog) and constellation of the Croix of the South with stars of the Centaure. These two Astérisme S are always used nowadays.
He also added two other constellations in the honor of his sovereign, Louis XIV: Fleur-of-Lily (in Latin: Lilium , the Fleur of lily representing the emblem of France), and the Sceptre and Main of Justice (in Latin: Sceptrum and Manus Iustitiae , symbols royal). None them was preserved.
