Augustin Panon

Augustin Panon , known as Europe , is a colonist French which settled on the island of the Meeting, in the Indian Ocean, where it became a Notable. It is at the origin of the Famille Panon Desbassayns de Richemont.

Biography

It was born towards 1664 with Toulon. He was companion Menuisier and Charpentier of houses " very adroit" and at the 24 years age a contract of service three years signs with the Compagnie of the Indies to Nantes. It embarks the May 5th on the Saint Jean-Baptiste towards 1689 for the Bourbon island with the Louis port of Brittany.

Finally, it was put at agriculture. He married Francoise Chastelain. He was born from this union two child in particular Augustin. C this last which annexed an additional name, that of Desbassayns, for the reason for the presence near its property of the many basins of the Ravine Saint-Gilles.

Its name was given to a district of the island become a commune with whole share, Arm-Panon.
