Augustin Avrial

Augustin Avrial was born with Revel (Haute-Garonne) in 1840 and died in Fécamp (Seine-Lower, today Seine-Maritime) in 1904. It is a personality of the Commune of Paris.

Garage hand it engages in the army of the Second Empire of 1859 to 1865. Then it settles in Paris in 1867, it adheres to the International association workers and will be condemned to the prison with the third lawsuit of the International one.

It is released by the proclamation of the Republic on September 4th, 1870. He is elected ordering 66e battalion of the National guard. The March 18th, 1871, it organizes with Montmartre, resistance to the takeover by force of the Gouvernement Thiers which wants to remove the guns of the Communards. March 26th he is elected with the Conseil of the Commune by, XIe district. He is Member of the Commission of Work and the Exchange (29/03), of the Executive commission (1871) (10/04) then of the War (21/04). Member of the minority it votes against the creation of the Comité of public Hello. During the bloody Semaine it organizes the defense of the district of Castle-D-Water (currently the Republic). He can take refuge in London. From 1874 to 1876, it directs a factory of mechanical engineering, which it founded with François Jourde and Camille Langevin, in Alsace (then German). But it is expelled in 1876 and of takes refuge in Switzerland.

After the amnesty of 1880, it returns to France, becomes controller of the material to the company of the State railways (1880-1882). In parallel it undertakes an activity of inventor (in particular a motor bicycle with oil). It adheres with the republican socialist Alliance then with the Parti working Socialist revolutionary Jean Allemane
