Augustin African Stourm

Auguste or Augustin African Stourm (1797-1865) was a French political personality of the 19th century.

Biography

From December 1853 in May 1861, he is managing director of the stations under the Second Empire, succeeding Edouard Thayer in station since December 1848. Descent

He is the father of the tax inspector Rene Stourm (1837-1917), cofounder of the Private school of political sciences, perpetual secretary of the Academy of Science morals and political.

And also, the great-grandfather of Louis Leprince-Ringuet (1901-2000), physicist, professor at the polytechnic school, member of the French Academy and Academy of Science.

He is buried with Bercenay-in-Othe (Paddle)

A street of Metz (the Moselle) bears its name.
