Auguste Regnaud of Midsummer\'s Day d\' Angély

Auguste Michel Etienne Count Regnaud of Midsummer's Day d' Angély , is a Marshal of France. Born on July 30th 1794, the shortly after died of Robespierre, he is the son of Michel Regnaud of Midsummer's Day d' Angély. Died on February 1st, 1870.

First Empire

It makes its first education with the Prytanée of Saint-Cyr military school, and enters in 1811 to the Military academy of Saint-Germain whom it leaves in 1812 to go to join in Russia the 8 {{E}} regiment of hussards, in the capacity as second lieutenant. It is distinguished in various meetings, mainly in the countryside of Saxony, and was named, after the Affaire of Dublen (October 10th 1813), lieutenant, and shortly after (December 4th) member of the Légion of honor.

8th of hussards having been about destroyed in the day of Leipzig, Regnaud is attached, in the capacity as Aide-de-camp, to the general Corbineau, itself aide-de-camp of the Emperor, and is made, with the imperial staff, the countryside of 1814, during which it is promoted with the rank of captain for his control in the combat which takes place under the walls of Rheims. It is used with this rank during the first year of the Restauration in the 1 {{er}} regiment as hussards.

To his return of the isle of Elba, the Emperor attaches the young captain to his person as aide-de-camp, and raises it with the rank of major in the day of Waterloo.

Restoration

Laid off with his/her brothers in arms, Regnaud d' Angély leaves the army and the France, and meets in his/her father Michel Regnaud of Midsummer's Day d' Angély, victim of the reaction. Later it returns to Paris to request its radiation of the list of proscription, and obtained it after ceaseless steps; but it was too late. Hardly the count Regnaud of Saint-Jean-D' Angely it had re-examined the capital which he succumbed to all his emotions.

Striped controls of the army, the young count Regnaud lives withdrawn in the countryside until in 1825, time to which it leaves for the Greece whose independence was with the day before to succumb under the weapons of Ibrahim-Pasha. With the Revolution of July, Regnaud is exceptionally recognized in its rank. It is even named lieutenant-colonel with the 1 {{er}} hunters, since 1 {{er}} of the lancers, body of which it is named colonel in 1832. He was Officer of the Legion of Honor since May 1831.

Then Regnaud of Saint-Jean-D' Angely is named Brigadier general and major general; this last promotion dates from the July 10th 1848. It is then representing of the people to the legislative Assemblée, large officer of the Legion-D' Honor; it orders the task force of the the Mediterranean in 1849.

Second Empire

It was distinguished particularly at the time of the countryside of Italy of 1859 although the posterity is retained only Mac Mahon. With the battle of Magenta, to allow a hazardous operation of Mac Mahon, Regnaud of facing lasting more than one day with quite higher forces. Mac Mahon was long in arriving but when it was there forces some, it collected the bay-trees braided by the pugnacity of Regnaud.
