Auguste Pavia
Auguste Pavia , born with Dinan in 1847 and died in 1925 with Thourie, in Ille-et-Vilaine, was an explorer, a diplomat and a French senior official.
It made its studies with Guingamp where a Lycée bears its name. In the beginning explorer of banks of the river Mekong, it was the first vice-consul of France with Luang Prabang (1886), then in 1892, resident of France with Bangkok. It was illustrated while negotiating with the Siam and by in particular obtaining the recognition of French protectorate on high Laos, in 1893.
At the end of the 19th century, it fixed with the China the borders of the Laos.
