Auguste II of Poland
Frederic-Auguste 1st , prince voter of Saxony, and Auguste II , king de Pologne, known as the Fort (May 12th 1670 in Dresden - 1733 in Warsaw), king de Pologne of 1697 with 1704, then of 1709 with 1733.
Auguste was born with Dresden in Saxony, it is the son of Jean-Georges III and the princess Anne of Denmark. In 1694, with died of his/her older brother Jean-Georges IV, it becomes Prince voter of Saxony, Count Palatine of Saxony, margrave de Meissen.
To died of Jean III Sobieski Frederic-Auguste of Saxony was presented in the form of a candidate to the throne of Poland. In 1697 it is elected king de Pologne and thus succeeded on the throne of Poland Jean III Sobieski.
It reigned until in 1704. It reigned again on the Poland of 1709 until its death the 1733. It had made prohibit the maconnic cabins.
Guard of arts, large patron, it made his capital Dresden the Florence of Elba . Called the Fort because of his robust constitution and his unsteady temperament, one lends innumerable mistresses to him and bastard.
It is under its reign that the secrecy of the Porcelaine was discovered, it establishes a manufacture with Meissen, which made the fame of the Dresden china.
Its heart rests with Dresden and its body, on the contrary, in Cracow.
Auguste II of Poland belonged to the House of Wettin.
Marriages and descent
Auguste II of Poland married the January 20th 1693 Eberhardine de Brandebourg-Bayreuth (1674 - 1727), (girl of Christian II Ernest de Brandebourg-Bayreuth). A child was born from this union:Of his connection with the countess Marie-Dawn of Königsmark, Auguste II of Poland had two natural children:
- Maurice of Saxony
- Anne of Saxony (1707 - 1769) Orselska countess, in 1730 it married the duke Charles de Schleswig-Hosltein-Sonderbourg-Beck (1690 - 1774), (wire of Frederic Louis de Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderbourg-Beck).
If Auguste II of Poland had one legitimate child, it had on the other hand several known natural children whose Maurice of Saxony celebrates it. One even says that it had some nearly 365, but that belongs to the myth which surrounds this famous character and always celebrated in Saxony.
