Auguste Boncors

Auguste Boncors , born with Rostrenen on May 25th, 1905 and died in Saint-Guen on August 27th, 1971 was a writer French. He was also a néo-druid under the name of Eost (meaning August and harvest in Breton) or Eostig ( nightingale into Breton) Bongorz.

He also wrote under various pseudonyms: Potr Rostren and Aogust Bongorz.

He was pupil with the college Notre-Dame de Campostal with Rostrenen, then with the Saint-François college of Quintin, from where it was excluded to have been surprised naked in a trunk, before being excluded from another catholic educational establishment of Saint-Brieuc for “insubordination”. Rebel and breakage-neck, it multiplied the eccentric acts.

Denounced, it is stopped by the Gestapo in August 1943, envoy with STO, is off-set with Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Dora and Niederhausen. On its return of the camps, he is engaged like operates large work at Renault in Paris.

With Rostrenen, the family vault where it rests faces the tomb of Armand Robin.
