August Leopold Crelle
August Leopold Crelle born with Eichwerder the March 11th 1780 and died in Berlin the October 6th 1855, is a Mathématicien and German Engineer in Architecture.
He took part in the construction of many buildings in Prussia between 1816 and 1826. He founded in 1826 the Journal of Crelle , whose objective was to connect the various mathematicians between them, as well in Germany as abroad.
In 1828 Crelle was named member of the Prussian Academy of the scientists. It gave up its functions in 1849 due to fragile health and died in 1855.
A street of the German capital bears its name.
