  • 1937 . France: signature of convention between the State and the large companies (Is, Northern, Midi, Paris-Orleans and the Paris-Lyon-Mediterranean) which creates the National company of the railroads French, public company of one 45 years duration private law starting from the 1 {{er}} January 1938. The various networks are transformed into “areas”. The old material will remain in theory attached to its area (marking comprises a number of area) but the new materials “will be unified”: they could be indifferently affected with any area.

  • 1992 :
    • France: startup with Lyon of Maggaly, automatic Subway with large gauge (line D of the Subway of Lyon).
    • France: first derailment to 270 km/h of a TGV. The accident occurred in Gare Mason-Loach, several people who waited on the quay are slightly wounded.
  • 1998 . China: beginning of the building work of the line Canton Haïnan via the port of Zhanjiang
