Audit Board of personal information
The Audit Board of personal information (or CCIN) is an institution Monegasque charged to take care of the protection of the personal data. Instituted by article 2 of the Law n° 1.165 of the December 23rd 1993 regulating the treatments of personal information, the CCIN is an administrative authority placed near the Minister of state.
Composition
The CCIN is made up of 6 members indépendants : 3 regular members and 3 temporary members, named by sovereign ordinance for one 3 years period and proposed, because of their competence, by the National council, the Council of State and the Minister of state. The President is appointed among the regular members.
Prerogatives
- To inform the requests for opinion of the Public sector, to record the declarations of the Private sector, to establish and hold up to date the " public repertory of the traitements".
- To facilitate the exercise of the right of access of the people concerned.
- To collect and inform the complaints.
- To make carry out controls and investigations.
- To present any report/ratio on the application of the provisions of the law and the texts taken for its application.

Investigators
The Commission can make carry out investigations in order to make sure of the respect of the law. Named for three years per ministerial decree, the sworn in investigators are in charge of the check operations on the ground.
Formalities
The moral persons of public law who collect or who process personal data in an automated way are subjected to preliminary obligations of declarations or requests for opinion at the CCIN. The formalities envisaged by the law are of nature différente :- For the private sector, the formality is declaratory.
- For the public sector, the formality takes the form of a request for opinion subjected to the C.C.I.N
It should be noted that the CCIN records treatments automated and not of the file S. With the difference of a file, an automated treatment of personal information calls upon a whole of information which, associated with software, makes it possible to continue a given purpose. Thus, are not subjected to declaration or request for opinion the not automated files or punched-card.
