The grounds of the commune are sprinkled by the Gave d' Oloron, affluent of the Gave of Pau, and by its tributaries, the river the Saleys (like by its affluent, the brook Herré), the brooks Barthes and of Labaigt (like by the affluent of this one, the Gouarin brook).

Toponymy

The toponym Audaux appears in the forms Aldaus (XIe century, according to Pierre de Marca), Audaus (1178, collection Duchesne volume CXIV) and Feels Bisentz d' Audaus (1612, insinuations of the diocese of Oloron).

History

Paul Raymond note that in 1385 the commune depended on the Bailliage of Navarrenx and counted 84 fires. Audaux was a dependence of the Marquisat de Gassion.
