Aubiat

Aubiat is a common French, located in the department of the Puy-de-Dôme and the area Auvergne. Aubiat belongs to the urban surface of Clermont-Ferrand.

Places and monuments

  • the castle of Aubiat, which belongs to the family of Bonnevie de Pogniat,
  • the castle of Mons, which belonged to the general Beker, then to its adoptive nephew and wire Felix Martha-Beker,
  • the church of Aubiat, of which the rebuilding was financed by Felix Martha-Beker, mayor of Aubiat, which paid work and by his/her son-in-law, Louis de Bonnevie de Pogniat, who provides the ground and the ornamentation of the building. She was blessed by the bishop of Clermont in October 1881.

The Cimetière shelters the burial of Nicolas Beker, Count of Mons, born in 1770 and died in 1840.

  • His wife Antoinette Desaix (1764 - 1816), older sister of the general Desaix rests at its sides.
  • Felix Martha-Beker is the author of a biography of the general Desaix.
  • Louis de Bonnevie, officer, friend of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, died in Morocco in 1927.
