The toponym Aubertin appears in the forms Albertinus (1128, according to Pierre de Marca), Auberti (XIVe century, fors of Béarn), Aubertii (XIVe century, censier of Béarn), Auberty (1548, reformation of Béarn), Sent Blasi d' Aubertin (1608, insinuations of the diocese of Oloron).

History

A commandery was founded on the territory of Aubertin in 1118, which gave its name to the commune of Lacommande.
In 1385, Aubertin counted 44 fires and depended on the Bailliage of Ossau.
