Attic (homonymy)

Attique indicates:

  • the Attic , territory of the quoted of Athens and the modern area of corresponding Greece;

  • the Attic , the old dialect Greek spoken by the inhabitants about Athens, and become because of power of this city, the Greek dialect dominating;

  • In Architecture, the attic is the upper floor, of less proportions, a building; in particular, it is the upper part of the solid mass of construction of a Triumphal arch, forming a band continues more or less thick, above the bays and the entablature which compose the lower part of this type of monument.
