The attachment of tradition is a equestrian sport today. Formerly this activity belonged to the daily life, the horses entrusting their power to human, tractor drew all kinds of vehicles or varied machines.
There exists a discipline sister which is the modern attachment, quite simply called “attachment”.
History of the attachment
The attachment existed already before the invention of the Roue.
The horses drew then from the loads placed on two pieces of wood. As shown in the films western, these means of transport were still used by the Indiens, while on the European continent , in Asia this system of attachment since centuries was already replaced by the towing of wheel carriages.

Contest
In France the contests are placed under the monitoring of the AFA, Association French of attachment, and organized by its clubs members.
It is obvious that for the description of a beautiful crew, the site of the contest must be adapted to the needs. Thus these contests proceed on sites of castles or large residences seigneurales.
A contest of attachment of tradition is composed in general of four parts:

- the handiness
- handing-over of the prices
The most known contests of attachment in France proceed with Chantilly, Cuts, Saint-Agil, Dinard, Deauville, the Mound-Tilly, Thillombois.
