Atlantic division (LNH)
In North America, the division Atlantique of the National league of hockey was created in 1993 as a part of the Conférence of the East during the realignment operated by the League. Its precedecessor was the Division Patrick.

Evolution of division
1993 - 1998
Atlantique division is formed in result of the realignment of the LNH. Thus, the Devils of the New Jersey, the Islanders of New York, the Rangers of New York, the Flyers of Philadelphia and the Capitals of Washington join division as former teams of the Division Patrick. Lightning de Tampa Bay comes from the Division Norris and Panthers of Florida is added as new team.
1998 - Present
Following the arrival of the Predators of Nashville, two new divisions are created and Panthers, Lightning and Capitals are moved in one of new division, the South-eastern division. In same time, Penguins de Pittsburgh come from the North-eastern division.The teams are thus the following ones:
