Atlantic City , in the state of the New Jersey to the the United States, is a city considered for its 12 casino S and its port of pleasure. It counts 40.580 inhabitants (2005) and is located at approximately 80 km Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), on the Littoral Atlantique. History
Its geographical location in the south of the New Jersey, between the Atlantic Ocean, the marshes and the islands, was presented in the form of a real zone the main thing for the real salesmen. Demography
On census of 2000, there were 40.517 people, 15.848 households, and 8.700 families residing in the city. The median age was 35 years. For 100 women there are 96,1 men. For 100 18 year old women or more, there are 93,2 men.
The average revenue for a household in the city was 20 807,50 € ($ 26.969), and the median income for a family was 24 685,00€ ($31.997). The men had a median income of 19 650,81€ ($25 471) against 18 408,89€ ($23 863) for women. Approximately 19,1% of the families and 23,6% of the population were below the Poverty line, including 29,1% of those 18 years or less and 18,9% of those 65 years or more.

Atlantic City is governed under the system of act of Faulkner (Mayor-Council) of the municipal government. The mayor of Atlantic City is Bob Levy.
Federal representation, of state and county
Atlantic City is in the second congressional zone and fact part of the 22nd legislative zone of the New Jersey.
The zone in the second place congressional of the New Jersey, covering all the Atlantic county, county of Cumberland and the county of Salem and the parts of the county of Burlington and the county of Gloucester, is represented by Frank LoBiondo (R, Vineland). The New Jersey is represented in the senate by Frank Lautenberg (D, park of Cliffside) and Robert Menendez (D, Hoboken).
The 22nd legislative zone of the legislature of New Jersey is represented in the senate of state by William Gormley (R) and in the Parliament by Francis J. Blee (R, Absecon) and Jim Whelan (D, Atlantic City). The governor of the New Jersey is Jon Corzine (D, Hoboken).
