Atlantia

Atlantia S.p.A. (old Highway SpA) is an Italian company which builds and manages the majority of the Italian Autoroute S. It is the company number 1 in Europe in this field.

The Autostrade group was privatisé in 1999 and was belonged to the Italian group Benetton.

The Autostrade group occupies the first place in Europe among the dealers of construction and management of turnpikes and the related services of mobility. In Italy, approximately 4 million travellers forwards on his network (8% of the population) each day and which extends on 3.408 km.

Società Autostrada Tirrenica SpA, highway between Leghorn and Civitavecchia (240 km), which currently manages the section between Leghorn and Rosignano - 36,6 km,
Tangenziale di Napoli Spa - 20,2 km, by-pass of the metropolitan surface of Naples
Società Autostrade Meridionali Spa - 51,6 km, highway Naples Pompéi - Salerno
Strada dei Parchi Spa - 281,4 km, dealer since January 1st 2003 of the Highway Rome Aquila - Teramo and Torano - Pescara (fine of the concession 2009).

History

1950, Istituto per Ricostruzione Industriale - IRI founds the company Autostrade Concessioni E Costruzioni S.p.A.,
1956, the first convention between Autostrade and Anas - Italian DDE - is signed for the construction of the Italian main artery, between north and south, the Highway of the Sun (A1, Milan-Rome and A2 Rome-Naples), it will be more the highway great project of the century,
1963, Autostrade launches the first “Eurobond” emitted in Europe
1964, inuaguration of the Highway of the Sun, between Milan and Naples,
1982, the Autostrade group is made up for the management of a network of more than 2.600 km
1987, Autostrade Concessioni E Costruzioni S.p.A. is with dimensions with the Stock Exchange (Borsa Italiana Milano S.p.A.), into Mib30 - equivalent of the CAC 40 -
1990, the company introduces the first dynamic system of toll in the world, Telepass, which counts today 4 million users (50% of the European market)
1992, Autostrade takes part in the first project of turnpikes of the the United Kingdom, M6 Toll of Birmingham, brought into service in 2003,
1995, Autostrade constructs the first turnpike financed with resources deprived with the the United States, Dulles Greenway, in Virginia.
1999, Autostrade is privatisée and is part from now on of the group Benetton via its subsidiary company Schéma 28.
2002, Autostrade allocates the decennial concession of the Austrian government for the construction and the management of the first system of payment multilane (several ways) free-flow (without stop) for the 2.000 km of roads and Austrian highways. Only the other cases of multilane exist with Toronto and Melbourne on a scale more limited definitely (less than 100 km). The system functions since January 1st 2004.
2005, Autostrade is candidate with the privatization of network APRR of the East of France but its offer is isolated whereas it had been classified the best and was given gaining.
2007, Autostrade discusses with Spanish Albertis for a bringing together.

Composition of the Highway group

Spea - Ingegneria Europea Spa - sociuét of engineering specialized in the highway projects, tunnels, bridges and viaducts, since the feasibility studies until the work management. With taken part in the contest of the Channel tunnel in the team Chanel Express train.
Pavimental Spa, specialist in the field in the coatings in the roadways and road maintenance.
Essediesse , services company, which manage the administrative services, the pay, the general services and real for all the Group Highway,
AD Moving , which manages the marketing of spaces and the services advertizing as well as the highway service areas,
Port Mobility Spa, manages the port of Civitavecchia,

The participations currently held by the group in foreign companies are:

Poland , 50% + an action of the company Stalexport S.A., group dimensioned in Bourss of Warsaw specialized in the trade and distribution of steel, for the construction and the management of the turnpikes. Stalexport obtained in 1997 the concession of the Cracow-Katowice section of 61 km along the highway A4,
Chile , Costanera Norte, turnpike of 43 km which crosses of Is in West the Santiago capital, equipped with a system of open toll of type free-flow,
the USA , Autostrade International off Virginia O&M, manages the concession of the highway Dulles- Greenway of 24 km,

Moreover, the Autostrade group has companies whose activities are closely related to the highway activity:

Infoblu Spa : manage the production and the diffusion of the services of information sweats the conditions of the traffic along the Italian highway network,
TowerCo Spa: company of engineering which ensures the design and the realization of the networks of transmission of the data multi-operators along the highway roadways, the installation of relay and antennas of telecommunications radiomobiles, for the operators like TIM - Telecom Italia Mobile Spa, Wind Spa and Vodafone Spa,

The Autostrade group also invented the system of toll without stop Telepass , and develops this system for applications of regulation of the traffic in zones with limited circulation (urban centres, ports, interports and parchings. The Autostrade group already equipped with its sytèmes with electronic control with access the towns of His, Perugia and Florence.
