Ghanima Atréides is a character cycle of Dune , of Frank Herbert.

Ghanima Atréides is the girl of Paul Muad' Dib and Chani, and the twin sister of Leto. They are the heirs to the imperial throne. In language Fremen Ghanima means: “spoil of war, object acquired during the battle”. The heiress has the temperament of those of her people.

History

As his/her brother and his aunt Combined, Ghanima one is taken. His/her mother having taken many mixture when it was pregnant that as of their births, Ghanima and Leto had the capacities of a Révérende Mère. They are able to call upon the memory of their aïeux (men and women) and have knowledge Bene Gesserit.

Origin of the name

The word Ghanīma means in Arab language “Spoils of war”, “Spoils of war”, exactly as in the Romance . It is thus about an Arab word which is intact parvenu until the Fremen, probably thanks to their origins Zensunni.
