Athy
Athy ( Baille Átha Í in Irish) is a city of the Comté of Kildare in Irish Republic.
The town of Athy counts approximately 7500 inhabitants.
It is named in memory of a Celtic chief, Ae, is killed whereas he crossed the river in this place; the name of the city means “the city close to the ford of Ae”.
Athy contains two famous pubs:
- Franck O' Brien - Emily Public garden (alive memory of the city)
- Ger Clancy - Leinster Street
