Athletic Club of Boulogne-Billancourt

The Athletic Club of Boulogne-Billancourt ( ACBB ) is a sporting Club French of the Parisian suburbs whose seat is with Boulogne-Billancourt. The ACBB is an association of the type law 1901, non-profit-making.

History of the Club

The ACBB was created the March 18th 1943 on the initiative of Mr Pierre Klemann, by the fusion of six sporting clubs bolted. It counted 350 members. Like emblem, the escutcheon with the weapons of the town of Boulogne-Billancourt and the colors gray and orange of the cyclists were adopted.

The logo current, more modern, date of 1993.

Association obtained very quickly results, in cycling in particular:

  • 1946: first world title, Roger Rioland, individual cyclist continuation.
  • 1948: first Olympic title, Pierre Adam, cyclist continuation by teams.

Then the development accelerated:

  • 1963: the club is 20 years old, 28 sections, 6000 members, it is the largest sporting club of France.
  • 1992: with the Olympic Games of Barcelona, the ACBB is the best European club and the 2nd world one, with 2 gold medals and one of money.
  • 2000: the club has 34 sections and more than 9000 members.
