Atepomaros

Atepomaros , in the Celtic Mythology Gallic, is a king or a mythical warrior, whose name means “large rider”.

According to the legend, it is with his brother Momoros one of the founders of the town of Lyon. Come from north, they stopped on a hill located in edge of the the Saone. According to the instructions of an oracle, they undertake the construction of a city, when the site is invaded by a multitude of corbels. This animal being heralding the presence of the god Lug, it is issued that the city will name “ Lugdunum ” i.e. the fortress (or hill) of Lug.
