Atacamite

The atacamite is a Minéral composed of oxy Chlorure of Cuivre of formula Cu2Cl (OH) 3.

Physical properties

Remarkable by its color green emerald; fatty glare; hardness Mohs 3-3,5; density 3,8.

Layers

Discovered in 1801 in the desert of Atacama, in the north of the Chile.

Use

Atacamite is a rare copper ore.

It was used formerly (before the appearance of the blotters) as powder to dry ink, and was imported of Chile for this use.
