Around film
- Only film of the series James Bond with the Australian actor George Lazenby in the role of the secret agent. In following film, Diamonds are eternal , Sean Connery returned in the role of Jump.
- This James Bond was longest of the series, coming very close to 2 hours 20, to the Royal exit of Casino in 2006.
- to make up the deficit of notoriety of George Lazenby, the producers had decided to engage a already famous James Bond Girl . After having approached Brigitte Bardot (inalienable), they finally turned to Diana Rigg, made famous for its interpretation of Emma Peel in the series Bowler hat and leather boots
- In addition to Diana Rigg, another actress of the series Bowler hat and leather boots appear: Joanna Lumley (Purdey), in a role of figuration however credited to the credits. It is the third actress of the same series which takes part in a James Bond , since Honor Blackman, which played in Goldfinger, had it also the principal feminine role of the series, at the time Doctor Catherine Gale.
- the scenario writers had thought of making appear the final sequence of film in the pre-credits of the following episode. But the advertisement in the course of turning by George Lazenby of her intention not to prolong its contract (and thus the prospect to have to change actor) obliged them to give up this idea.
- the scenario of film comprises a notable inconsistency in the sense that Blofeld does not recognize James Bond, that it is however supposed to have met in the preceding episode One saw only twice . This inconsistency can be explained in two ways:
- For better doing to pass the change of actor near the public, the scenario writers had a time planned to introduce a history of cosmetic surgery. The idea was finally abandoned but the improbable meeting between Blofeld and Bond would be a " séquelle".
- the film is a rather faithful adaptation of the novel. However, At the secret service of Its Majesty was published before One saw only twice and is thus in the beginning the theater of the first meeting between the two men.
- When Tracy escapes to him at the conclusion of the pre-credits, 007 known as with the camera: " That never arrived at the other " type; , in reference Sean Connery has. It is it only time where one applies directly to the public in a film of James Bond.
- the mountainous den of Blofeld:
- In exchange it right to film in the restaurant, the team of film agreed to build a track for helicopter, to arrange the interior of the restaurant and to install a mechanism making it possible the structure to rotate.
- At the time of the escape from James Bond from the base from Blofeld takes place a continuation with ski. Two techniques of sights are used in particular: American Night and Incrustation. However the first technique (American night) returns rather badly on the covered with snow landscapes, and one realizes quickly that the sequence was turned day (in particular when by error a plan shows the sun through the filter of the camera). The sequence, rather long, and by this bad returned night américiane can give the impression which the history proceeds at dawn; however the continuation of the history takes place in middle of the night well. In the same way, one can note many inconsistencies with the incrustation (James Bond in postion of " schuss" or of something of similar, in perfect balance on its two legs, whereas it is not supposed not to have any more but one ski, the right).
