At Ashton is a chain of Fast-food industry which is found only in the immediate area of Quebec, (Quebec, Canada). It specializes in the varieties of poutines and the sandwich with the Rosbif, but offers also hamburgers and hot-dogs.
The first restaurant At Ashton was created when the founder, Ashton Leblond, then 21 years old, bought its first snack in 1969 in Quebec. For 5000 Canadian dollars, it acquired of a stand to fried potatos with the corner of the boulevard Hamel and street Notre-Dame. One finds with the menu fried, hamburgers, hot-dogs and breads with the meat. The competition being hard, it is to dissociate itself in 1972 that there was been useful for the first time the poutine, whose receipt had been adapted of its area of origin of the Center-of-Quebec. In 1976, the first restaurant of the chain with dining room opens its doors close to the original site, on the Hamel boulevard with Old-Lorette the. In December 1980, Ashton Leblond opens a second restaurant in the old town of Beauport, on the boulevard Holy-Anne, and adds to the menu the sandwich with rosbif inspired of the menu of an American chain which, after a few years, becomes the brand name of the restaurant with the poutine. The Années 1980 will be favourable with the opening of several restaurants.
The chain is also known for its original winter promotional offer: it offers a percentage of reduction on the price of its poutine equal to the coldest temperature planned for the day (a cold night from January to -30°C giving 30% of reduction).
It on the whole counts 25 restaurants with the Quebec and Lévis. Two restaurants were already open in the area of Montreal, but closed little time afterwards.
