Astronomical observatory of Tenerife
The astronomical observatory of Tenerife is located on the island of Tenerife (archipelago of the the Canaries) at 28° of northern latitude and 16° of western longitude.
On the site of Izana to 2.400 m of altidude, with the foot of the Teide, do not flower less than eight cupolas dedicated to the traditional Astronomie. Also draw up four solar towers of which observatory T.H.E.M.I.S (heliographic Télescope for the study of the magnetism and instabilities of the solar atmosphere). This last consists of a telescope of 90 cm placed vacuum with a cooled secondary. The diameters of the other instruments are spread out from 30 to 155 cm.
