Astrocam

A astrocam is a Webcam or a video camera, modified or not, used to make Astrophotographie numerical good market. It is especially used by the astronomers amateurs which cannot acquire more expensive models, in particular the high-end with CCC.

It is used with a Télescope of which it replaces or supplements the Oculaire. A Computer or a television set to which it is connected then makes it possible to record or visualize the images. Because of the sensitivity relatively low of these apparatuses their use is generally limited to the very luminous objects, for example the Planet S or the the Moon. However electronic modifications making it possible to increase the exposure times make visible certain not very luminous celestial objects, for example of the Galaxie S or Nébuleuse S. Some optimize their camera by changing the sensor, replacing it for example by a black model and more sensitive white.

The astrocam can be connected to the display system by a telegraphic bond or a microwave link 2,4 GHz by means of a transmitting .
