Astro City

Astro City is comics created by Kurt Busiek, Alex Ross and the draftsman Brent Anderson, initially published by Image Comics in 1995 then by Homage Comics, a label of Wildstorm.

Synopsis

The series puts in scene a world of original superman and continues the exploration of the topics of Marvels , how ordinary people, as well as the supermen and unpleasant themselves, live and work in a so fantastic world.

The supermen of Astro City are substitutes of superman of cd. and Marvel. Thus Samaritan is inspired by Superman, Winged Victory of Wonder Woman, the Confessor of Batman, Mph of Flash… for the heroes cd.; and Jack-in-tea-Box of Spider-Man, First Family of the Fantastic Furnace, Crossbreed of the X-Men…

Leading life

Ross paints the covers of the series, which was published in a sporadic way because of the health issues of Busiek.

Publications

The series was partially translated into France by Semic in publication by subscription: Entirety of volume 1, limited series Astro City; and the first 12 episodes of volume 2.
