Astérix with the Olympic Games is it twelfth album of the series of Cartoon Astérix the Gallic of Rene Goscinny (scenario) and Albert Uderzo (drawing), prépublié in Pilote of No 434 (February 15th, 1968) with No 455 (July 25th, 1968) and published in album in 1968.

Synopsis

Astérix and Obélix goes in Greece, with Athens, to take part in the Olympic Games. A good part of the village Gallic accompanies them to support them. Unfortunately, when they arrive, they hear of the prohibition of the doping products . The Magic potion is regarded as a prohibited product. Astérix has of another choice only to represent Gaulle, only, and without magic potion.

Anecdotes

With the recording at the entry of the Olympic village, a low-relief represents Goscinny and Uderzo with a transliteration of their name in Greek alphabet (ΓΟΣΚΙΝΝΙ, ΥΔΕΡΖΟ).
