Astérix and the cauldron

Astérix and the cauldron is the thirteenth album of the series of Cartoon Astérix the Gallic of Rene Goscinny (scenario) and Albert Uderzo (drawing), prépublié in Pilote of No 469 (October 31st, 1968) with No 491 (April 3rd, 1969) and published in album in 1969.

Synopsis

Not to pay its taxes, Moralélastix a miserly Gallic chief deposits all the money of its commune in a cauldron and requires of Abraracourcix to keep it in its village until the passage of the Roman Questeur. Abraracourcix accepts but in the night, the cauldron kept by Astérix is catch. The Council of the village is then constrained, because of the code of Gallic honor, to banish it, and Astérix must then fill the cauldron again to erase its fault and to be authorized to regain his, accompanied them by Obélix, which does not want to let it only go.

Important characters

  • Astérix . Culprit of negligence, Astérix is quite alone, far from the village.

  • Obélix . Astérix which cannot only manage, Obélix comes to its assistance.

  • In the theater (page 29), the two actors name Eléonoradus and Juleraimus, homages to the large actress of the turning of the century Eleonora Duse and, of course, to Jules Raimu.
