Association of the writers and revolutionary artists

The Association of the Writers and Revolutionary Artistes (AEAR) was created in France in 1932. At its head were placed Paul Valiant-Dressmaker, Leon Moussinac, Charles Vildrac and Francis the Jordan.

Under the tacit authority of the French Communist party, association - just as its body '' Commune '' - had the role of joining together, in the same group, the various cultural currents which, in France, questioned the reports/ratios of revolutionary engagement with the culture, like some fellow travellers.

In 1934, the AEAR organizes a " exposure of the artists révolutionnaires" Porte de Versailles in Paris from January 27th to February 18th. On this occasion a catalog is published whose foreword is of Rosianu, and who contains the list of exposed works of Carlu, Estève, Leger, Lhote, Lipchitz, Lurçat, Masereel, Pignon, Signac, Valensi… and 4 reproductions except text.
