Association for the free software

The Association for the Free software is a French association law 1901 which aims at the promotion and the popularization of the free software. It was created in 2001 and works in the Languedoc-Roussillon from its head office with Montpellier.

The main aim of association is to diffuse and explain the philosophy of this movement of the free software in direction of the private individuals, the companies and the administrations of the Languedoc-Roussillon area. She affirms to want to offer a professional image of this software to the economic actors.

The actions of association are founded on the exemption from payment, cantilever with the philosophy of free enterprise of the free software. It organizes a monthly demonstration, the “Last Thursday”, an annual demonstration the Journées of Free of Montpellier which takes place each year in November, as well as a certain number of regional actions.
