Assistant agent of judicial police

The assistant agents of judicial police ( APJA or APJ 21 of the number of the article with regard to them) are envisaged by the article of the Criminal procedure code French.

They have to be able to note the crimes, offenses and infringments. Their mission consists in giving an account of any infringement noted by the drafting of a statement or a report transmitted to the Public prosecutor by the intermédiraire of the Judiciary police officer territorialement qualified.

There exist five bodies including/understanding of the APJA:

  • the training policeman APJA in article 21-1 (twenty and one firstly) of the CP
  • the assistant gendarmes (voluntary and reservists). APJA in article 21-1 (a) (twenty and one firstly (a)) of the associated CP
  • the safety of the National police force. APJA in article 21-1 B (twenty and one firstly for the third time) of the CP
  • the agents of monitoring of Paris (ASP) . APJA in article 21-1 quater (twenty and one firstly quater) of the municipal police CP
  • the APJA in article 21-2 (twenty and one secondly) of the CP
  • the Rural policemen APJA in article 21-3 (twenty and one thirdly) of the CP
The field of competence of the APJA remains primarily the observation of the offenses against the highway code.
