Assassins and robbers

Assassins and robbers are a film French carried out by Sacha Guitry, left on the screens in 1957.

Synopsis

Philippe d' Artois, idle rich person, robber by dandyism, surprise at his place a burglar, Albert Lecagneux, and asks him to help it to commit suicide against an amount of money. However, it is that this robber was condemned, a few years ago, in the place of Philippe d' Artois for the murder of the husband of the mistress of this last…

Comment

This last but one film of Sacha Guitry is also the occasion for its author to join again with his first loves: the caustic comedy. The arrest and the imprisonment of Albert Lecagneux in the place of the true culprit, Philippe d' Artois, are an obvious allusion to its arrest during the Second world war. The film is held in a rigorous way, until its cynical final outcome. It should be noted that for the first time, Guitry is completely absent from its film: he does not play, and the comment in voice-off is ensured by Jean Poiret.
