Aspergillum (liturgy)
See also: Aspergillum
The aspergillum is small a Bâton of Bois or Métal, furnished with hard Poil S or a bored ball of holes, which is used for the church to take Eau bénite and to throw it on the objects which one blesses, or to present it to somebody.
Its name comes from Goupil , the medieval Nom of the Renard, because it was furnished with a hard tail, similar to the form of the aspergillum.
