Aspects of France

Aspects of France (initially entitled Aspects of France and the World ) " The weekly magazine of Action française" , official body of the national Restoration. Periodical Monarchist of French Action created in 1947 by Georges Calzant to replace the famous daily newspaper the French Action (prohibited of publication for Collaboration in 1944). It absorbs the national Documents , re-examined clandestine animated by members of the AF under the Occupation and directed by same Calzant. After the death of this last, Aspects of France was directed by old the General Commissaire with the Jewish Questions of the Régime of Vichy, Xavier Vallat, then by Pierre Pujo. Its managing director was initially Pierre Ensch then Lionel Moreux.

This periodical defended a strict orthodoxy with the Maurrassisme and its team of drafting aimed to start again the doctrines of the integral Nationalisme at the same time as the project Monarchiste of the movement of the French Action. Besides Aspects of France takes again initial AF of its predecessor. During the Fifties, the periodical is associated with the activities of the royalist movement national Restauration founded by Pierre Juhel and Louis-Olivier Russet-red.

The principal collaborators of Aspects of France were elder the Maurice Pujo and Charles Maurras (under the pseudonym of Martin Octave), but also Pierre Juhel, Xavier Vallat the writers Michel Déon, Pierre Boutang, Jacques Perret, Kléber Haedens, Marcel Aymé, Roger Nimier, Antoine Blondin, the historian Philippe Ariès, Philippe Buren (" Meïer"), Michel Mourre,

Among the occasional collaborators (during the Fifties) one counts: Firmin Bacconnier, Robert Havard of the Mountain, Georges Gaudy, Claude Jeantet, Nicolas Kessler, Marcel Justinien, Gabriel Matzneff, pol. Vandromme, Roland Laudenbach, Michel Formentaux, Georges-Paul Wagner, Guy Steinbach and the draftsman Ben.

In 1955, Pierre Boutang and Michel Vivier forms the French Nation , always asserting French Action, but proposer to modernize their ideas Royaliste S and Nationaliste S according to the economic situation of post-war period and the tensions in Algérie.

During the Sixties, the team accommodates new writers like Henri Massis, Bernard Faÿ, Pierre Chaumeil, Pierre Debray, Pierre Pujo, Jacques Ploncard d' Assac, Maurice Jallut, Jean Brune, Béatrice Sabran, Louis Truc (" Angel pitou"), Paul Serry, César of Bray, Rene Johannet, Georges Photogravure, Patrice Sicard or Andre Nicolas.

Other periodicals related on Aspects of France and the movement national Restauration are created as from the Sixties:

  • Aspects of France cease to appear in 1992 to be replaced by the French Action hebdo which changes name into 1998 for the Action Frenchwoman 2000 (directed by Pierre Pujo and been dependant on the royalist Center of French Action resulting from a scission with RN). The newspaper is available today in the kiosks or by subscription.
