Askia Modibo , of its true name Modibo Koné, is a musician and singer of Reggae Malian, born in 1968 with Ké-Macina (Mali).

Although born in a family Songhaï, Askia Modibo begins in the music by traditional songs Bambara under the name of Modibo Koné.

It turns then to the reggae, meets in particular Alpha Blondy in Ivory Coast and Tiken Jah Fakoly.

It records in 1996 an album entitled wass-reggae . In 2001, it leaves an album dedicated to the Équipe Mali football, Mali foot, go for the victory , in a few months of the Coupe of Africa of the footballing nations in Mali.
