Asia (group)

Asia is a Supergroupe of Rock formed in 1981. They had their first great success with the album eponyme Asia, which includes the title " heat off the moment". One finds good titles like " there; Plate survivor" , " Wildest Dreams" or " Only time will Tell". In 1983, Alpha returns in the vats, " Don' T cry" fact of exploding charts" and " Open Your Eyes" follows closely. In 1985, the third opus of the group, heading Astra (recorded without Steve Howe, which joined at that time group GTR) does not meet hoped business success. The group lives sparely until the beginning of the year 1990 when it is presented under a new grinding: remain then of the historical formation only the keyboard Geoffrey Downes. The new singer-bass player who replaces John Wetton is John Payne, unknown of the general public hitherto. The group then records several albums of which the public repercussion does not have anything any more to see with the success of antan. In 2006, Geoffrey Downes " divorce" of John Payne and reforms the group under its formation of origin (with Wetton, Howe and Palmer) for a world tour entirely devoted to the titles of the first two albums. A new album studio is currently in preparation. John Payne, for its part, comforts himself with group GPS with the guitarist Guthrie Govan.
