Ashigaru
The ashigaru (soldiers with feet) constituted the main part of the troops of a Japanese army . The Samurai S represented only one negligible portion of the troops.
At the beginning simple peasants armed in a disordered way, they became truths troops of infantries, armies of mousquets after the appearance of those at the 16th century. Frightening groups some, the part played by these troops in the victory of Oda Nobunaga over the cavalry Takeda with the Bataille of Nagashino remains famous.
