Asdf
“ asdf ” is the sequence of letters appearing on the first four keys of the line of the medium, on a keyboard QWERTY or QWERTZ. It is often used in a generic way to carry out an example or a test, like equivalent of a random sequence .
The choice of these four letters (has, S, D, F) thus does not have a value Sémantique, and this continuation of characters does not have not clean direction. Its use is thus connected with that of the lorem ipsum and of the Pangramme.
It is generally printed in small letters. Its equivalent is “qsdf” on the keyboard AZERTY and “aoeu” on the Clavier Dvorak.
The choice of the line of the medium comes owing to the fact that it is used as reference mark in the methods of training of the Dactylographie.
By Retro-acronymie, “asdf” can be seen like the Sigle, in English, of “ Angry, Sullen, Depressed, and Frustrated ” (“annoyed, renfrogné, depressed and frustrated”).
