Arvida Corporation was an important company of real development, founded by '' Ar '' the Thur '' VI '' ning '' Da '' screw, president of Alcoa of 1910 to 1957.

The company developed many projects of which

• the homonymous city Arvida
• Boca Raton starting from March 21st, 1959

The company was bought in May 1984 by the Walt Disney Company for 200 million $. The purchase by Disney was justified by the will to dilute the action of Disney in order to counter an attempt at tender offer on behalf of Saul Steinberg, the repurchase having led to an acquisition of a holding of Low Brothers to a total value of 5,9% in Disney
